March 8th, 2017
In September 2017, Groh PS will open its doors for the first time to students and the community. Part of creating a school community is building an identity and sense of belonging within the school. We are inviting all members of our community to help us select our school mascot by filling out the form below. Groh Public School staff will select the mascot from the submissions.
Please use the following criteria to guide your mascot choice:
- Suggestions that fit the vision of this new school: empowering students to collaborate, problem solve and be critical thinkers in a global orientated learning environment
- The type of mascot must reflect good taste and a positive image of the school
- Gender neutral / not gender biased (non-human figure, animal or object)
- Has strong qualities, is inclusive, and appeals to all / friendly (not too aggressive)
- Will be a positive role model and reflects the surrounding school community
- Reflects a global culture
- Shows strength and change
- Suggestions where the initials or acronyms are offensive, or have other negative connotations or associations will not be considered.
Submissions are now closed. Thank you for participating.
We thank everyone for taking the time to submit your suggestions. The final mascot choice will be announced by the end of the 2016-17 school year.
